On March 24th, 2011, from 5:30PM-6:00PM, New York Jazz Event's Vibraphone Quartet performed March 24th at the Doe Fund's annual graduation ceremony at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, 48 E 84th St, New York, 10028.
The Doe Fund's mission is to develop and implement cost-effective, holistic programs that meet the needs of a diverse population working to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism. All of The Doe Fund's programs and innovative business ventures ultimately strive to help homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals achieve permanent self-sufficiency.
The "men in blue" received more than just a diploma when they walked across the stage on March 24th. While securing full-time employment and permanent housing, rebuilding relationships with family members, and gaining valuable work-force skills, they have overcome the cycle of homelessness, crime, and addiction.
The is New York Jazz Events second engagement for the Doe Fund this year, following The Vibraphone Trio's performance at The Doe Fund's Annual Gala on October 28th.
